To enhance the teaching capabilities of young teachers and consolidate the foundation of teachers’ ethics and professional conduct, Teaching Training for Young Teachers was held at the meeting room 313 on the afternoon of May 13th. VIPs attended the meeting were as the followings:
Jun Tao, CPC Secretary of the School of Information Management, Wuhan University;
Lihong Zhou, Associate Dean of the School of Information Management, Wuhan University;
Xianrong Huang, Head of the Supervision Group of the School of Information Management, Wuhan University;
Minhui Peng, Consultant of the Faculty Development Sub-center,
Xiaoliu Bai, Director of the Undergraduate Teaching Management Office,
and many young teachers attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Lihong Zhou.

Jun Tao put forward requirements for the training of young teachers of the School. First, carry forward the tradition and deepen coordination. Relying on the School's rich scientific research platform resources, we should give full play to the vitality of young teachers, further optimize the mentoring mechanism, and promote the collaborative development of the team. Second, adhere to teaching and put students first. Young teachers should stick to the fundamental task of education and teaching, strictly abide by teaching discipline, standardize teaching behaviors, put an end to teaching accidents, and take improving teaching ability as the core task of career development. Third, foster virtue and prioritize teachers’ ethics. We should vigorously advocate and carry forward the spirit of educators and scientists, encourage young teachers to strive for honors such as The Most Beautiful Teacher and Top Ten Teachers, and guide students' growth and talent development with noble teacher ethics. Jun Tao pointed out that teaching seminars and experience sharing should be carried out through various forms such as young teachers exchange meeting to improve teaching levels and team cohesion.
Lihong Zhou emphasized that young teachers are the backbone of the School's development. At present, their enthusiasm for teaching is high, but they still need to deepen their understanding and implementation of rules and regulations. The School will continue to carry out systematic teaching training to help young teachers gain a firm foothold in the classroom and inject new momentum into disciplinary construction. All teachers should keep in mind the mission of "cultivating morality and educating people", promote scientific research through teaching and feed teaching back with scientific research, and contribute to the cause of "promoting educational modernization".
Xianrong Huang combined with supervisor work cases, deeply analyzed the dialectical relationship between teaching and scientific research and put forward the core view that "the depth of teaching determines the thickness of scientific research". She emphasized that from the university-level to the school-level, undergraduate teaching has always been placed in an important position. Through improving the incentive mechanism and accountability system, a clear orientation of clear rewards and punishments has been formed. She called on young teachers to treat the classroom with awe, strive for perfection in the whole process from lesson preparation, teaching to assessment, improve student satisfaction with solid teaching skills, and achieve two-way empowerment of educating students and educating oneself.
Minhui Peng, with the theme of Students under Luojia Mountain, shared experiences in teaching routine work, curriculum test paper proposition and marking, thesis guidance, seeking teaching cooperation, etc., based on what she has learned and gained in her work process. She also suggested that young teachers can deepen the expansion of teaching capabilities and enrich teaching innovations by participating in teaching research and competitions and guiding student competitions and practices.

The meeting made it clear that this training is mainly for newly recruited young teachers, aiming to strengthen teachers' sense of responsibility, improve core teaching skills, and lay a solid foundation for educational and teaching quality through systematic training. In the future, the School will continue to improve the training mechanism, regularly carry out special ability improvement activities, provide a solid support for building a high-quality and professional teaching staff, and help the School write a new chapter in talent cultivation on the new journey of Double First-class construction.
